Decades after their match at the All Valley Karate Tournament in 1984, middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence find themselves once again as martial arts rivals. During the original filming of The Karate Kid, the late director John G. The team behind Cobra Kai searched the studio’s vault and found tons of previously unseen footage that they could introduce into the series through flashbacks. One of them involves Zabka’s mother, who was in the stands in different angles not seen until 2018.

Many people believe that Miyagi’s name on the tombstone is a continuity error, as in Karate Kid 4 (1994) his name is Keisuke, but it was actually previously shown on the sign Chozen held in Karate Kid 2 (1986) as Nariyoshi . This means that The Next Karate Kid changed its name, while Cobra Kai kept the name it was previously given. However, another interesting fact is that the name given in The Karate Kid Part II is not his original name. Miyagi.
I can’t believe how much I love Cobra Kai
In The Karate Kid (1984), Miyagi’s nameplates attached to the keys to the 1948 Ford that Daniel gave him for his birthday briefly reveal that Miyagi’s name is Hideo. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: Anthony Mackie/Ralph Macchio/Kiry Shabazz (2018 .). At first I thought this was going to be a weird kids show. It’s not, any fan of the original trilogy will love this.
He’s an absolute breakout star here!
It takes place 34 years after the events of the first movie and the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament It follows the decline of Johnny Lawrence’s (William Zavala) fortune as he tries to turn his life around and open the famous Cobra Kai dojo. This reignites his rivalry with the successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). I can’t say enough about how good Zabka is here. It’s a shame he hasn’t become a bigger star over the years because he shows here that he can put on a show.
I promise you’ll love it!
